Urban Decay 24/7 Shadow Pencil Stash

I absolutely love Urban Decays shadow and liner pencil products so anytime they release sets like these I always get sucked in and for good reasons, the products are amazing; they’re long lasting and won’t crease. Urban Decays shadow pencils make for a great multi-function product since you can use them as regular liners, as an eyeshadow base or simply eyeshadow but because these do dry fast so you need to be quick about blending them out. Plus sets like these are really great for gifts, when I bought my set I also bought an extra to give to my sister for part of her birthday present and she loved it.

Sugarpill Royal Sugar & Tiara

Sugarpill recently had a 20% off Birthday sale for turning 2 so I took advantage of the sale to pick up the remaining two loose shadows I was missing from my collection since shipping came out to be almost free so the loose shadows I got are Royal Sugar and Tiara which are stunning. I’m really excited to now finally own every single Sugarpill shadows since I absolutely love them and they are by far some of the best shadows I’ve ever used, I really can’t wait for Sugarpill to expand their shadows since they’re like Pokemon you gotta catch them all, haha!

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadows

I finally was able to get my hands on all the Maybelline Color Tattoo shades I’ve been eyeing, at first I was only able to pick two of them up from Ulta and since then everywhere I’ve been has been sold out, but I finally picked up the remaining shades I wanted which I’m really glad since these are just as great as what all the raves say about these eyeshadows.
The packaging is similar to that of MAC paints pots with hefty glass jars and a plastic screw top lid instead with the name written on the top of the lid and the formula is definitely comparable to what MAC paint pots offer at a fraction of the cost, I also was able to blend them out well using my fingers or a brush so you have enough time to work with them and they do set and dry really well too and since some of them apply a bit sheer at first application it’s easy to build up to a more opaque finish if desired. And I also didn’t experience any creasing or fading and wear time was just as great, I tested several of them out for 12 hours and they lasted the entire time.

Overall I think the Color Tattoo eyeshadows are a great product and lately Maybelline has really been impressing me with their products and converting me into a fan, so at $6.99 for 0.14oz these are a great buy especially since you can often find coupons for Maybelline items and usually Ulta runs buy 1 get 1 50% off promotions on Maybelline items making it an ever better buy.

MAC Butterfly Party Crushed Metallic Pigment Stack

MAC recently launched their Vera collection, which I found a bit underwhelming product wise, the only items that initially stood out to me were the crushed pigment stacks which I really enjoy, their pearlglide intense eye liners I was also interested in and still may pick up a few but for the most part I already have similar shades from other brands, I’m not really that big on their plushglass’s so I passed on those, the two face powders while pretty didn’t seem like a must since again I already have similar shades, and their nail lacquers for the most part I always seem to find pretty disappointing. So the only items I was really looking forward to were the crushed metallic pigment stacks, as soon as I saw the promo for the Butterfly party one I knew I had to have it, but the other two stacks looked a bit similar to some of the other renditions MAC has done in the past with their crushed pigment stacks so I’m still debating if I should pick them up or not.

MAC Shop Cook Eye Shadow x4 Quads

MAC recently launched their Shop Cook collection which I was really looking forward too especially for the eye shadows quads since I am always such a sucker for them unless all the shadows end up being flops with terrible pigmentation which is always so disappointing but these three seemed really promising and actually all had really good pigmentation there were only a few shadows that were a little difficult to swatch but would still probably apply well on the lid with a primer.

From left to right: Call me Bubbles, Fresh Daisy, Full of Flavour, Brash

Call Me Bubbles:
Call Me Bubbles is a light tan satin
Fresh Daisy is an orange frost
Full of Flavour is a coral matte
Brash is a frost reddish copper veluxe pearl
This was the only quad where I didn’t have any problems swatching any of the shadows, brash applied the best with a creamy soft and smooth opaque coverage and the other three also had great pigmentation making this the best quad out of the bunch performance wise.

From left to right: Sugar Snack, Hypnotizing, Power Boosted, Shop & Drop

Shop & Drop:
Sugar Snack is a light pink matte
Hypnotizing is a frosted greyed mauve frost
Power Boosted is a violet veluxe pearl
Shop & Drop is a deep blue satin
This was my second favorite quad out of the three just because I love purples all the shadows applied well and the textures were soft and smooth but I did have some problems with Sugar Snack the texture felt a bit powdery and was pretty sheer to the point I had problems even trying to layer the shade to build up the color.

From left to right: Laundry Daze, Colour Added, Pre-Packed, Self-Serve

Colour Added:
Laundry Daze is a light yellow satin
Colour Added is a bright yellow veluxe pearl
Pre-Packed is a muted turquoise veluxe pearl
Self-Serve is a deep grey satin
This was definitely my favorite quad out of the three of them mainly because of Pre-Packed; Pre-Packed is an incredibly beautiful color and swatched creamy and buttery, Laundry Daze and Colour Added I found were not as creamy but both swatched soft and smooth, Self-Serve was the only one that I had problems with and had to layer the shade several times just to build up the color.

MAC Mineralize Eyeshadow Expansion!

So the other day I went to my local MAC counter to pick up a new MSF face powder since I needed a backup and while looking at the display several of the mineralize eyeshadows to the right of the MSF’s caught my eye and I knew instantly they were the mineralize eyeshadows from the Style Black collection so I made sure to pick them up to double check that I wasn’t crazy and indeed they were the same so I asked one of the employees about them and come to find out MAC just re-released them this month and they are going to stick around for a year so if any of you missed out on these now is the time to pick them up!
I was so bummed since the only one I was missing from the Style Black collection was Gilt by Association which seems to be one of the most coveted ones from the collection and just out of curiosity when I came home I did a quick eBay search to see what they’ve been going for and there were two listings; one at $60 and another at $90 I think, so I was super excited to finally pick it up at retail cost. MAC also released a new shade along with the four current shades called Smutty Green which is gorgeous and a must have for me since I love greens. (Please note swatch photos of Blue Flame, Young Punk and Cinderfella are from an older batch/release)

Medusa Makeup Eye Dust Collection part 1

Medusa Makeup Eye Dusts are definitely my favorite product from this brand, when I first ordered from them I got the Electro Eye Shadow Collection (as shown in a previous review) and two of the Eye Dusts to try them out; Big Bird and Purple Rain which I feel in love with especially with Big Bird since it’s really a great vibrant pigmented yellow color true to the name and it applied smooth and opaque. So from there I knew I needed to have the whole set which I ended up picking up.
At the time when I ordered the Eye Dust collection it actually came with the Neon Pink acrylic 48 hole lightning bolt stand (as pictured) which I really love since it makes for easy storage and keeps them all organized together nicely and in a nice rainbow order so for me I personally dislike that the pink acrylic holder no longer comes with the set especially since I feel like if your purchasing the entire set the holder makes for a great incentive and better deal… plus since they’re now only selling the stand separately I think the price tag of $49.00 is a bit outrageous and perhaps overpriced…
But as far as the Eye Dusts I really love them and find that they are some of my favorite pigments, some of the colors from the set that I especially love are Purple Rain, Big Bird, Comet, Wasabe, and Cupcake.
Medusa Makeup Eye Dusts can be applied to the eyes, lips and face. And is $7.00 each for 1.5 grams net wt.
The packaging on these are as to be expected in comparison to other brand pigments, they come in clear round acrylic screw top jars with the company name printed on the top and on the bottom a sticker showing the name of the shade along with ingredients. They do not come with sifters which may be a downside but I actually prefer not having the sifters since I can get to the product easier but for those of you that prefer them they do sell sifter inserts separately for $3.00 for a bag of 6.
They all have really great pigmentation and the texture is soft and smooth, these also would be best applied over a primer for a more long lasting wear and to help with any fall out which is usually a concern when working with pigments. They work great when applied wet more a more intense and opaque coverage, but either way I think they would work well for anyone looking for either a more sheered out or bold look. (All swatches below are shown applied wet)
